This is me when I was 13 years old, just before we left South Africa to come to Australia in 1991, where my parents would help lead a church. I remember at the end of six months in Australia just balling my eyes out to my parents saying that I want to go back to South Africa. It was around this time that I received a letter from a youth leader in South Africa who felt to write to me and tell me that God didn’t just call my parents to Australia with a purpose, but He had also called me there with a purpose as well. These simple words changed my life. I realised I wasn’t being dragged along as some accidental passenger on someone else’s journey, but that God had a divine destiny and calling on my life and the journey I was on was exactly where God wanted me to be. From that day I owned the call of God on my life. My daily pursuit now is to fulfill the purpose that God put me on this planet for. Your life too is not a mistake or accident. God has you exactly where He wants you. He knew you before you were even born and you are unique and extremely important to Him. God has a specific purpose and calling for your life and if you would believe that and own it and let Him lead you, He will lead you into all of it! God bless.
Shalom! Ryan,
“that God didn’t just call my parents to Australia with a purpose, but He had also called me there with a purpose as well. ”
This portion is related to me believing that my eldest son, my only son is also called to be a pastor. I am part of the calling of my son. I did not impose on him what I believe but he sensed spiritually his calling. Thank you for this simple yet revealing truth about calling.
Hey that’s awesome Edison! What a blessing!
